2012 Toyota Avensis teased ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show debut

2012-Toyota-AvensisAt the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, Toyota will introduce several new models, including world premieres for the new Avensis and the new Prius family of full hybrid models. Making its European debut is the new 2012 Hilux. The three-door version of the newly launched new Yaris will be seen in public for the first time. The updates to the UK-produced Avensis include revised exterior styling, using a frontal approach that uses Toyota’s new design language. Improvements were made to the quality look and feel of the interior. Strategic revisions were also done to the powertrains and driving dynamics.

When combined, these changes stand for the biggest mid-life investment that Toyota has done for any model. Throughout the world, 2.3 million Prius units have been sold, marking its success but at Frankfurt, there will be a new chapter with the introduction of the new Prius lineup. Toyota updated the full hybrid model and joined it with the production version of Prius Plug-in Hybrid and the seven-seat Prius+. With these new models, Prius will be the first full hybrid to be made available as a complete, stand-alone model lineup.

The customer base of the Prius will be expanded as every new model is designed to appeal to the specific customer needs. The Prius Plug-in Hybrid is the most technically advanced Prius but it could have a CO2 emissions rating as low as 49g/km. Prius+ could reach sub-100g/km CO2 emissions and is the first model in Europe to be a seven-seater but with the benefit of a full hybrid powertrain. Hilux, the top-selling pick-up in Europe, has received significant restyling for 2012. It has boosted its credentials as a vehicle that is hardworking but is ideal for pleasurable driving too. The exterior revisions are complemented by an interior with a new look that provides the comfort and convenience of a passenger car.
